Our Approach: legally adapting to your startup

The 3 Levels
For startups and scale-ups looking to establish a solid legal foundation with a one-off project, or to run a more extensive legal trajectory in a structured, well-managed way.
Level 1 consists of clearly defined assignments with a set start and finish: a project (documents, advice, or an out-of-court case) or a trajectory (documentation + strategy + negotiation). No ongoing support, but everything needed to get this part right in one go.
Result: A solid legal foundation or a successfully completed project/trajectory that you can build on immediately — and one that can be easily maintained and further developed in Level 2.
For teams who, after Level 1, need continuous legal support without hiring a full-time lawyer. You get a dedicated sparring partner who understands your context, acts fast, and grows legally with your business. Level 1 is “one-off setup”; Level 2 is “keeping things legally in order on an ongoing basis.”
Result:
Legal continuity without friction: your team can decide faster, negotiate stronger, and operate with less risk — with a dedicated legal partner who knows your company and documentation inside out.
For ambitious startups wanting structural legal capacity in-house, even if the budget is limited. In Level 3, we step in fully: Startup-Recht acts as your internal legal partner / legal co-founder and participates via equity. This aligns risk and upside, fully aligning our interests with the company’s success.
Level 2 is an external dedicated partner; Level 3 is internal legal capacity integrated into the team.
Result:
An internal legal partner who feels part of the team, with skin in the game and a focus on long-term value.
How startups choose the right level
Many startups begin with Level 1 (Foundation), then move on to Level 2 (Continuity), and in specific situations choose Level 3 (Integration / Legal Co-Founder).
You don’t have to go through all levels. Depending on your stage, budget, and needs, you can start where it delivers the most value, or pick a single level that best fits the way your team works.
Foundation
One-off projects or trajectories to establish your legal base quickly and professionally.
Continuity
Ongoing legal support with a dedicated partner who knows your context.
Integration
Internal legal partner (legal co-founder) with shared interest and structural involvement.
